This place is on the shore of Lake Union and has quite a lot of classic wooden boats from different countries and time periods. They also rent out some of their boats to the public. Boat workshop (to conduct boat crafting lessons) as well as sailing lesson are offered. I find their information center to be very educational.

My boys enjoyed a sailing camp at this unique center this summer. Affordable and small group setting. Kids learned many skills as well as working together both on land and on water. Very friendly staff. I'd never been to this little floating museum which is free to enter. Plenty of rentals available as well as some free rides on Sunday. Check before you go but a great destination with a visitor or a date!
World-class maritime center

The CWB is much more than a maritime museum and is one of the only places in the country that preserves old boatbuilding ways. It offers classes on boatbuilding, sailing, rigging, and many other topics for individuals, women, or families. On a summer day, there's nothing better than walking around the piers and viewing so many beautifully restored boats on display, including some large specimens, which offer tours. On Sundays, there's an hours free sail on Lake Union. You can even rent rowboats or even classic wooden sailboats for a whistle.
